What do a people who are beat down by persecution, riddled with people conflicts and confused about the focal point of Christianity need most? Here in Paul's introduction Paul gives us a trumpet blast as to what is most needed in all troubling circumstances in the church. And that is nothing less than a few sentences placing the gospel, that is Christ works for us not ours, at absolute center of all things in the church. (Php 1:1-2)
