The Glory of God in Suffering

Pastor Aldo Leon - Job 1 & 2
The Glory of God in Suffering, Part 1
Delivered on: 17 April 2016

How do you view and deal with suffering? Typically, we think that the point of such things is to overcome, be better, and seek for God to remove all the sufferings we endure. Basically, we think that the removal of things that weaken us and or the strengthening of ourselves is what is needed most in suffering. But what Job shows us is that what is most needed is not for us to be victorious in sufferings, nor do enough good to lift ourselves in sufferings but to be beat to a pulp in sufferings and look to and cling to a perfect-saving-suffering Christ in our sufferings. Do we need to use God to be invulnerable and powerful or do we need to seek the cover of an invulnerable Christ in our vulnerability? In our message we show that the Christian life is a broken one that finds hope in a perfect broken Christ in the midst of ongoing brokenness. (Jb 1:1-22,2:1-13)
